With the Youghiogheny River flowing through much of the park, and a giant 53-foot waterfall, Muddy Creek Falls, this state park is a must if you are planning on going on any winter hikes in Maryland. I personally LOVE visiting and hiking through Swallow Falls any time of the year. SpletAmazing State Park in Garrett County MD. Only one real trail. But, get both Muddy Creek Falls, Swallow Falls and Tolliver Falls. Trail is only 1 1/4 miles with some elevation using stairs. Parking is limited and this is very popular, so can be crowded. But views of the falls are spectacular, especially in winter. Best park in Garrett.
